If you haven’t ever visited the Trader’s Point Creamery, then you have to add it to your "To Do" list of items in the near future.
As you can see from the photo, the results of the meal looks to me like it was a pleased local blogger, happy with their choice of nutrients for the day.
We started off with "The Point" cheese plate.
A sampling of our award-winning cheeses — chouda and fromage (herb, plain, spicy) are showcased with fruit, raisin pecan bread, and house-made crackers.
What a great opening to the meal that really showcased the products that were readily available in their store downstairs.
Our meals then consisted of today’s "special" which was a Fiesta Stuffed Burger. The burger consisted of a delicious and generous beef patty stuffed with the fromage blanc cheese, a beautiful, red, farm-grown tomato, a slice of avocado on a sesame wheat bun with a spicy aioli mayo. Absolutely fantastic! For a side-dish I chose the beets and sweet potato chips and my colleague chose the chilled, Thai noodles salad with a light peanut sauce.
Although we were stuffed, our waitress tempted us with a dessert of their Dutch chocolate milk or organic ice-cream. We eventually caved for a sample spoon of the coffee ice-cream, which turned out to be the perfect palate cleanser.
We’ll be adding this lunch location to our weekly rotation and I strongly encourage you to do the same. You can get directions from their website.
Join them for Oktoberfest 2008
If you’d like to find out more about Trader’s Point Creamery and see what they have you can participate in their Oktoberfest event that’s taking place on Sunday, October 26th from 12pm-6pm.
Live music by PolkaBoy, Hayrides, Bonfires, Pumpkin Patch, Face Painting, Cow Milking, Petting Zoo & Sample Award-winning organic cheese and yogurt. Traditional German Food, Beer, and Wine available for purchase.
Tickets are $10 at the gate the day of or $8 if you stop by and have lunch and purchase some tickets in advance. What’s even better is that all proceeds go to benefit Traders Point Historic Districts, which consists of over 7,000 acres of greenspace in Traders Point and the surrounding areas.

About: Thirty something, married and father of two beautiful children. I enjoy spending time with my family and hanging out at home. I will usually appreciate a night out of the house once you get me out with friends, but sometimes that can be a struggle because I'm a home body.

Today I believe I’ll be heading out to lunch at the Trader’s Point Creamery. I work on the northwest side and we drive by the creamery regularly, but have never stopped in for lunch.
After taking a quick stop by their website to verify times, whether or not they accept credit cards (they do!) and what’s on their menu. It’s a definite!
While browsing around the site I also noticed this video from Seth Hancock with Doing Indy. Great idea, but got a little silly. I think that’s his style though. I’d never heard of him, so it was good to find out about someone else doing some cool things in Indianapolis.
I’ll try and update the post later this afternoon with what I had and my quick review.

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, don’t forget that the Indianapolis Air Show at Mt. Comfort airport is this weekend.
With the beautiful weather we’ve been having, there’s not much of a better event to take the family to and enjoy than the air show. Adult admission is $17 and kids 5 and under get in free.
BUT WAIT!
If you’d like to earn some free passes to the airshow, visit the Indianapolis Is My Home site and write-up a post of your own about memories of past air shows or why you’d like to go to this one.

Do you love the Summer Nights film series, but just can’t stand the heat? Enjoy classic movies, but hate to watch them at home? Are you a movie lover or a casual film fan? Well, we’ve got something just for you.
This winter, the IMA will debut Winter Nights, a counterpart to the IMA’s popular Summer Nights film series. Winter Nights will feature classic films with familiar names. All films will be screened in the IMA’s Tobias Theater (aka The Toby) which will open this fall. (Which means…unlike Summer Nights, the IMA will provide the seats AND climate control.)
Below are some of the films that you will get to see this winter on The Toby’s big screen:
- The Maltese Falcon (dir. John Huston, 1941, 101 mins, B & W)
- La Dolce Vita (dir. Federico Fellini, 1960, 180 mins, B & W)
- The Bank Dick (dir. Edward F. Cline, 1940, 72 mins B & W)
- Blade Runner: The Final Cut (dir. Ridley Scott, 1982, Color)
- The General (dir. Clyde Bruckman and Buster Keaton, 1927, 75 mins, B & W) with live accompaniment by the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra.
- Lolita (dir. Stanley Kubrick, 1962, 152 mins, B & W)
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL FOLKS! Back by popular demand - the IMA’s Film Poll. We want to know what you want to see. Polls close soon, and at that time the movie that has the most votes in each one of the categories below will be chosen for the 2009 Winter Nights Series. You can vote as often as you like, so vote every 15 minutes, every day or just once. It’s up to you, my friends!
